Friends, Romans, countrymen and (of course) our loyal WT readers, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
Yes, it has come to the time of year when all office workers, across the land, ease in their swivel chairs from the standard bolt-upright sitting stance into a more reclining position. Hopefully with a tree, a sparkle and a little cheer around the vicinity! We – like many of you – are taking stock of the year 2016, and therefore we're reflecting on Viastak’s key occasions and achievements from the last twelve months - as well as some of our favourite articles that we’ve brought you this year!
January welcomed us with a much-revamped office space! With new furniture and wall designs, it was a far cry from our previous working environment and has drawn admiration from Stakkers and visitors alike. We also embraced new AV expert Javier Iraola, as one of our own, now famed for his tireless work ethic – some have questioned whether he actually ever leaves the office!
Our overseas engagements also developed excitingly this month. CEO Simon Osman flew to North America, alongside several Viastak project experts, to work with our long-time friends at WeWork. Touring New York and Montreal, our expertise in technical consultancy is a prime jewel in our crown.
Following our January consultancy work in Canada, our technical infrastructure scheme at WeWork Montreal went live in February.
Marketing became a fully-fledged Viastak division in March with the appointment of Steve Nash, who now heads up the department. We also welcomed projects with Frances King School Of English and WeWork Berlin. We ended the quarter with a laser quest Stakkers challenge!
Key additions to our staff came thick and fast in April. They came in the form of office manager Sophie Williams, service engineer Josh Rains, and director of infrastructure Kerry Cox.

Our project in WeWork Berlin began in earnest, encompassing both audio-visual and network infrastructure elements. Meanwhile, the fashion sense of all other Viastak staff came into serious question, following the entrance of sharply-dressed service engineer David Clarke!
Yes, we worked hard in June, as indeed we always do. Yet we cannot deny that the dominant memory of June was the Stakkers Summer Party, now an annual occasion. Hiring out a beautiful manor house in North London (pool included) for the day, we had a grand old time despite the British weather!
Just missing out on the infamous Summer Party were new social media expert Catherine Jeffries and service desk manager John Minnock. In something of a branding revolution, our Viastak website also underwent a complete revamp.
The aforementioned Ms Jeffries wasn’t Ms Jeffries for long, tying the knot with her fiancé in August. (She is now Mrs Robinson, thereby delighting Simon and Garfunkel.) We also welcomed commercial credit manager and proficient soprano Rebecka Fredborg.
Oh, and we only went and changed the world when we launched this here website Workplace Technologists!
Back on the recruitment drive, we signed up account director Ash Bodey and customer experience manager Chris Terry. Lead cloud architect Mikael Michelier welcomed his baby boy Liam (congrats to him!) and Viastak made the prestigious Sunday Times Tech Track 100 list (congrats to us!).
We celebrated five years of Mikael Michelier, the man chiefly responsible for constructing Viastak’s flagship solution: the cloud desktop iFollowOffice. Our success since would not have been possible without him. A slightly late third-quarter Stakkers celebration saw us take on the excellent London Time Run challenge!
In dapper form at the glamorous 8 Northumberland Avenue, we received our trophy for our Tech Track 100 ranking, which recognises the strength of our sales growth over the last three years. In the dying embers of November, new account manager Ben Blakeman came on board.
Viastak repeated its 2015 success in featuring on Deloitte’s EMEA Fast 500 companies. This denotes us as one of the fastest-growing private technology firms across EMEA in the last four years. As Christmas approached, we enjoyed ourselves in the only suitable way – a memorable knees up in the streets of Soho!
Across the year we have completed further projects with the likes of Hitachi, iView, Distell, Demandware, Cision. Our consultancy arm encompasses clients such as Cripps, New Day, Wilmington, NBC Universal and the Bank of New York.
We hope you’ve enjoyed our rundown of the year’s most memorable company moments. Have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year!
